304- Finger Paints Fall Fashionista Part Three

 Monday, August 8, 2011

Hope you all had a great weekend. I will be vacationing this week so If I dont post as much now you know why!

This is the third and last group of polishes from the Fall Finger Paints collection. The Fall Fashionista line is made up of nine cremes and today the last three's names are Military Green, Vintage Velvet and Stunning Stilettos.

Military green is a grey green that fits its name perfectly. It has a blue tone and is a wonderful murky color.

Application was great. I used one thick coat and a topcoat. This color is very fashion forward right now and I really enjoy military inspired colors and clothing for fall.

Vintage Velvet is a light teal that is a bit drab in color. Its an interesting color and I personally love it and would consider it a fall staple.

The smoky lacquer applied great as well and I used two coats with a topcoat.

Last but not least Stunning Stilettos. Stunning Stilettos is a cloudy grey creme that is fun to wear and interesting but not exactly unique.

I really liked this shade but I already have a few greys like this.

Overall I really liked the Fall Fashionista colors. They all were perfect for fall and had a certain on trend feeling about them. My favorite three were Cordur-Orange, Vintage Velvet and Raspberry Taffeta. I want to know your favorite three!

All the colors are found exclusively at Sallys.

303- Finger Paints Fall Fashionista Part Two!

 Saturday, August 6, 2011

Its the second installment of the swatches for Finger Paints Fall Fashionista Collection. Last post I reviewed Catwalk Queen, Pinstripe Purple and To-Teally Chic. Today I will review Raspberry Tafetta, Haute Taupe and Cordur-Orange.

Raspberry Tafetta is a super pretty berry shade that is a great fall shade. Its a medium shade that doesnt necessarily scream fall but it is very appropriate for the summer-winter months. I really liked this shade and I will be sporting it.

Application was great for this creme. I used only one coat and it didnt even need a topcoat! This stunner was well made and the formula is of great quality.
Haute Taupe is a basic brown creme. Its a light brown and reminds me of a sister to YDKJ. I barely ever wear these kinds of shades but they do look chic and go great for fall.

Application for this was also really good. I used two coats and went with the topcoat. I think this is a fashion forward shade and a good basic for fall.

Cordur-Orange is the star of the Fall Fashionista collection. Its the perfect fall orange that reminds me of leaves turning color and the cooler temperatures to come.

Application was great and I didnt think I was going to like Cordur-Orange but I ended up loving it.

Which shade was your favorite?

302- Finger Paints Fall Fashionista

 Thursday, August 4, 2011

Finger Paints released their new fall collection called Fall Fashionista. All the colors have some sort of fashion in their names. Finger Paint's new collection is made up of nine beautiful cremes.

I feel like most nail polish companies go directly to dull dark shades for fall and while those are appropriate its nice when they come out with some bright shades. Fall Fashionista has some killer bright shades but most are what I expect from a fall collection.

The nine colors in this collection are: Military Green, Purple Pinstripe, Raspberry Taffeta, Stunning Stilettos, To-Teally Chic, Vintage Velvet, Catwalk Queen, Cordur-Orange, and Haute Taupe.

I randomly picked three of the 9 to start with.
Purple Pinstripe is a very creme-y purple lacquer that is mid tone and almost berry in color.

Purple Pinstripe's application was awesome. It literally melted on to my nail. I love cremes for application they are so much easier to apply and take off!
I did not use topcoat and I dont think I needed any. This polish really shined by itself.

Catwalk Queen is one of the most unique lacquers in this collection. Unique doesnt mean I like it and I just dont see myself wearing Catwalk Queen.

Catwalk Queen kind of remind me of a gross dijon color. Its murky and its unflattering on my skintone.

Application was again really good. These cremes apply beautifully in one to two coats. They are glossy and pretty.

Maybe this interesting shade will look better on other skin tones but it just looked terrible on me!

To-Teally Chic is a medium teal color that rocked my boat. This in my opinion is the perfect fall color. Super cool and deep enough to make it not a summer color while not being dark enough for a winter.

To-Teally Chic had a great application with no need of topcoat. I used only one coat!

To-Teally Chic is a medium color that I think is very complimentary on most skintones.

So there you have the first three shades from the collection To-Teally Chic, Catwalk Queen, and Purple Pinstripe. Which one is your favorite?

 Tuesday, August 2, 2011

Glee Gold is the last lacquer in Dr.'s Remedy's Hot Hot Hot nail polish collection. Dr.'s Remedy Enriched Nail Polish is free from harsh toxins to promote healthier, stronger nails and the first-ever nail polish on the market approved by the American Podiatric Association. Dr.'s Remedy is available for $17 online at Remedynails.com.

Glee Gold is a metallic gold and its very stunning. Golds dont always look good on my but this mid tone metallic looks good on my skin which has a yellow undertone.
Application was very good! I used 1-2 coats for each nails. I did apply a topcoat afterwards to make the shimmer extra shiny!

Glee Gold is one of my favorites from this collections. The other polishes from this collection is Bold Baby Blue, Nurture Nude Pink, Tranquil Tangerine, and Lovely Lavender. Click on the names to see the reviews!
