Not more sales! Tuckernuck and Just Madras!

 Friday, August 30, 2013

TGIF! I am finally back on campus and cannot wait until classes start. After arriving and finding out that my bedroom is actually a sauna (no A.C. in 80+ weather), I am patiently waiting for my air conditioner to be installed.

This morning I happened to glance at Tuckernuck's fb page only to find a facebook exclusive sale.

If you don't know Tuckernuck, its what I would call an all american brand. The styles are classic and preppy.

With an additional 20% off you can score some adorable pieces for a steal!

My picks from the final sale section:

I am loving the mint Yosi Samra flats that are on sale for under $30! The mint color is very on trend and the fact that these fold up make them perfect for on the go flats.

This bee cuff is only $20 and I love the slim gold plated design. The pale pink is very feminine and the bee is a great fall touch! This is the perfect size bracelet for stacking.

Just Madras is having an end of summer sale! With 50% off EVERYTHING it is a real blowout!

Are you shopping today? Let me know if you find any other deals!

What I'm Loving This Week

 Saturday, August 24, 2013

I wanted to post a roundup of my favorite things from last week!

Double Sided Heart Mirror $5.80
I picked up this double sided heart mirror from forever 21 for a cool $5.80. One side is a normal magnification and the other is zoomed in. I love the mint green and heart shape! I find these incredibly useful and for that price I couldn't resist!

On friday, I went to my usual hair salon and asked for a 1 inch trim. Unfortunately my usual stylist decided that 1 inch meant I wanted 3+. I dislike my current short length and have been putting up my hair more than usual. These elastic hair ties are so convenient and comfortable I forget I have them on my wrist and hair!

I leave for school tomorrow! I can't believe the summer went so fast but also cannot wait to be reunited with my friends. I have about three vera duffels (2 large 1xlarge) that I use throughout the year for move in, for breaks, and for any trip where I need to pack clothing. The duffels are cute and extremely well made.

That's it for me this week! I can't believe I'll be back at school tomorrow. Crazy!

What are you loving this week?

Complete Lilly Haul

 Friday, August 23, 2013

Who doesn't like a haul post?

Like many of my readers I shopped, than shopped, and then shopped the Lilly Pulitzer Endless Summer sale.

Here is my loot!

My super fantastic total sweetheart of a sister woke up at 5AM Cali time to try to snag me a birthday gift. With all the madness of the site crashing she managed to get me an amazing score!

I am obsessed with my new murfee. I love these scarves and cannot wait to wear this in the fall.

On Tuesday around 5pm EST Lilly put up more items including older items at steeper discounts. One of these styles was the Garnet Dress!

I am always looking for easy comfortable and cute dresses. I love the simplicity of these dresses. These were $34 which in my opinion is a steal for the well made Lilly dresses. I love both prints and am so glad I was able to get these through checkout! With a cardigan or by itself I will be using these dresses.

I am a huge fan of wrap dresses so when I saw the Arina dress put up for $39 I had to snag it.

The beauty of this dress is that its appropriate for both casual and business casual occasions. I love this bright and fun print. The dress is ultra flattering and I love that the neckline is conservative but still feminine!

Last but not least:

I was able to get the nina dress! I cannot wait to try it on. I hope it fits!!!

Did you buy anything from the sale? Let me know!

Today is My Birthday! Shopping here I come!

 Tuesday, August 20, 2013

Good morning! Today is my favorite day of the year. Its my birthday! (Im sorry if that sounded a bit vein...) I am going to go to the outlets and hang out with family and friends.

Yesterday started Lilly Pulitzer's Endless Summer Sale. I unfortunately was without internet from 7Am-3pm EST so I missed out on most of the good deals. I did however snag three dresses! Happy birthday to my wardrobe!

I have been wanting this Darcy dress since I spotted it in the catalog. I am so glad to add this to my closet.

This Percy dress is sophisticated and classically feminine. I usually stay away from Lilly lace because the price tag is way higher (this dress was originally around $250) but since this dress was about 80% off I can't wait to rock the lace design.

I am hoping to pick up the Nina dress at the flash sale at 11AM EST today! If I dont get it oh well but if I can I will be spending some more birthday money.

Modcloth is also having a big sale today with many styles 70% off!

I am thinking about getting the "Veil of an Evening Dress" that was $50 down to $14. I think its a gorgeous little dress that will look great with black tights for the winter and fall.

I guess I am going on a bit of an end of summer/back to school/ birthday shopping spree. Did you pick up anything in these sales or are you shopping at a different store? Let me know!

Gotta Have: Ruffles!

 Sunday, August 18, 2013

I gravitate to feminine styles and whenever I see ruffles I can't help being drawn to them. Luckily for me ruffles and frills are a large part of the trends for the fall.

I love the looser and flowy styles. The maxi dresses are perfect for a summer night or fall day. I would pair them with a denim jacket and some flat sandals and wear them to class!

Are you rocking ruffles for fall?

Gotta Have: Peplums

 Friday, August 16, 2013

As we get closer to the start of school I figured I would post some of my favorite trends for this year. The first? Peplums of course! I love this feminine and classic style. The ruffle accentuates an hourglass or creates curves on a straight figure.

Untitled #112

A peplum shirt can be paired with a mini for night or even a pair of skinnies for day. No matter the sleeves this look is eye catching and bold. I love bow accents and minimizing the waist with a belt!

Untitled #113

A peplum skirt is appropriate for a multitude of occasions. A scalloped peplum is great for day, a grey or black can be appropriate for work, or a mini for night!

The easiest way to style one is to just throw on a dress.

What is your favorite peplum style? Will you be rocking the trend this fall?

Summer Days

 Thursday, August 15, 2013

Summer is winding down and I am trying to enjoy the easy weather and bright colors while it lasts.

I am wearing a version of this look today:

Untitled #108

I actually picked up the polka dot Lilly Pulitzer cassie at the warehouse sale for only $10! Gotta love the samples! The cotton slub is super confortable and with a large bauble necklace its a chic outfit.

I am loving the strap wedges from Toms. The natural look and ivory color matches with so much of my wardrobe. They go easily from summer to fall and I am considering picking up this pair.

What are you loving today?

Red White and Blue

 Tuesday, August 13, 2013

Lately I have been invited to a lot of theme parties with one theme that is much more common than the rest. The patriotic party has been a staple in my college career. Figuring out what to wear that is appropriate and not cheesy is always a hard task.

If its a day party or bbq:

I really like the polka dots and stripes combination and ruffles and pearls make the look ultra feminine.

For a formal:

I consider red pumps to be a staple and a patriotic party is a great excuse to throw them on. A pretty royal dress (I love the sleeves on this mini) and some star earrings and you're set!

For a night club or rave:

I love the clash of the stripes on this simple and easy outfit for the club.

For the super-theme party:

We all know of the hosts that go all out for theme parties. Simply wearing the right colors will not do. I love this uncle sam adaptation!

What would you wear to a patriotic themed party?

What am I listening to?

 Saturday, August 10, 2013

Every so often I like to put together some new playlists and put them in my rotation. Today I decided to share some of the tunes I have been loving. As you will probably notice I definitely have a kind of music I prefer (alternative pop-rock with a strong female lead) but I am eclectic and always ready to pop in an oldie.

Untitled #104

I like to mix in some of the hottest songs with some classics. Blurred Lines is in my opinion the hottest song of the summer and I cannot help singing along whenever it comes on the radio!

What are you listening to this summer? Any recommendations?
