Preparing for the 4th of July

 Monday, July 2, 2012

Hello everyone!  Mondays are always so difficult but today actually went by pretty smoothly. I was running late this morning but still managed to catch that very unpredictable bus and make it to class on time. I should explain; I am furthering my studies and taking a language course this summer and in order to get to the classroom I need to take a bus that never comes on time. The class is over in just two weeks and I cannot wait to be done with the three hours a day schedule.

I get off on Wednesday and I just cannot decide what to do for the 4th of July. I know I want to see some fireworks (who doesn't) but it seems as though the beach I usually frequent for the holiday decided not to have them this year. I guess I'll see where my family/friends decide and go with that!

Fourth of July is one of those holidays I feel okay with dressing up for. The patriotic look is actually trendy right now (Urban Outfitters is loaded with flag clothing) and its one of those trends that never really goes out of style.

I am obsessing over these patriotic items, but wouldn't necessarily wear them together:
Vans California Washed American Flag Shoes
Gap Strapless maxi dress

Topshop Flag Denim Jacket
Gap Mercer V Neck

What do you think about the patriotic trend? Do you like looking like an American Flag or do you think its too kitschy? I want to know!

I like the red and white striped dress. So cute! I like things that can be patriotic but not over the top. That way you can wear it all the time without feeling like a flag.

Urban is always to gung-ho on the whole "American flag tees/tanks" but at least you know where to go to find your stuff every year! American Apparel actually just recently came out with a cropped flag tank too.
